About Me
Hello! I’m Zoe Sams. I’ve adored stories for my entire life, and I started creating novels when I was ten. I write YA and adult fantasy adventure stories to spread truth, combat lies, and heal a hurting world. I’m also part of the Author’s Conservatory, a program meant for gifted young writers. Here, I’ve learned the fundamentals of business and good writing craft from professionals, and I’ve completed two writing projects and am currently working on my third! I’m an extravert who loves hanging around people, and I enjoy beautiful, sunny days and storms where tornado sirens blare outside.
I first started telling stories when I was one, and I haven’t stopped since. In fact, I’d do it for hours; my mom even had to establish a time limit! I wrote my first children’s book when I was six. Eventually, since I was homeschooled, my mom introduced me to novel writing through a book called Learn to Write the Novel Way…and I enjoyed it. I still remember the day I wrote the words ‘The End’ to my first book! So much so that, when the next fall came, I reached the next logical conclusion: I started another story on my own. However, it was only when I was fourteen when I nestled down into a chair to read Poetics for a program called Tapestry of Grace. As I scanned through the assigned reading, my eyes locked onto a sentence quoted from another author in amazement. One declaring a message that slowly sank in over the next several years. FIND THE SENTENCE!!! AND LOOK AT THIS SECTION AGAIN, TOO. DO IT ANTHOLOGY BIO WAY, NO LIST THAT U LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS AND STUFF One declaring that my writing can change the way someone views everything around them.
Predictably, I’ve never been the same since! Now, I don’t just write stories because I enjoy them.
I write to change the world.
My characters aren’t the only ones who experience great adventures; I've been on many myself! Many of which have been vacations. Some of my more notable adventures involve me moving often in my late teens and young adult years. I’ve ventured from Colorado to Maryland. Then I lived in Missouri with my grandparents while my family waited for a house in New Hampshire where I live now! When I’m not writing, I draw pictures of my characters, talk to my twin sister about her stories, play the piano, and stroll outside with my family.
